Apothecaries can be traced back to ancient times to include the discovery of clay tablets from 2600 BC recording information of a medical nature to the North American Spanish explorer Álvar Núñez Cabeza de Vaca, thought to have been one of the first Europeans to practice pharmacy and medicine in North America. One only has to do a quick internet search to discover all there is to know about ancient treatments and the practice of medicine. And while all of this is truly fascinating, the purpose of A Wise Apothecary is a bit different. Here at A Wise Apothecary, we offer a bit of spin on the original intent of what Apothecaries actually do. We are not a pharmacy. We do not provide medical advice, nor do we prescribe any treatments of a medical nature. That is better suited to your primary medical care provider.
